Mountain and skiing tours in Sogn

Great green fjord arms find there way through beautiful mountains and in the heart of this treasure of untouched nature lies Sognefjord Hotel.
You will live close to a fjord experience beyond the ordinary, high mountain that goes steep down to the fjord, powerful glaciers, high mountains with a feeling of arctic surroundings and lush valleys where one can see the remains of old culture. Summer or winter, this adventurous landscape is waiting for you to explore it. The tours are within 5 to 60 minutes driving distance from the hotel.

Here you have the opportunity for shorter hikes from 20 minutes up to daytrips, where one can choose between all levels of difficulty. We can offer to take you with boat to remote areas which are almost inaccessible any other way. Here you are often completely alone with the marvelous nature. The trips which are located in high mountains can be demanding and it is recommended to go on a tour with a guide who knows the area.
As a security- and quality assurance for you, Sognefjord Hotel cooperates with internationally approved mountain guide Gjert Grødal from the mountain guiding company Bre og Fjell (Glacier and Mountains) who is more than happy to take you on a trip.

It can be necessary with special equipment on some of the trips, which is possible to rent. When hiking in the mountains you need to have knowledge of the area. You should be in good shape, wear required clothes and bring the right equipment for the trip. It is an advantage if you have been hiking before. For top tours during winter and spring it is also important to have some skiing experience. Here in Sogn it is possible to ski throughout spring, often even until May or June.
